Kat and I made this mixtape over the past few days. We recorded one tape yesterday, and I’m about to finish recording side B today. A lot of it is getting on a few months (or years), but I wanted to share it as it’s a pretty good overview of how well things fit right now (2010-2012). I might soundcloud or 8tracks it in the future, but for now I was just going to post this up.
In honor of Mondre’s 21st birthday, I’ve compiled 42 of his best solo tracks. This doesn’t even graze the surface of his work within the Main Attrakionz catalog. And to think he’s made so much quality music by the age of 21 is quite impressive to me. This should be called Volume 1 since there’s so more blaps to come from MondreM.A.N—even today.
Lo-Fi Fnk gives us the other side of summer music (to like, most of my Rap Music I guess). The Swedish group identifies as indie-house which is likely appropriate given their lite-danceability. The treatment here though works as midway point for the electronic/beat centric and (t)rap music that’s been dominating my summer. Like a lot of the left field moves the Main Attrakionz joints this actually works pretty well with Lo-Fi Fnk translating into a perfect upbeat trap background for Mondre and Squadda.
